The liturgy choir is made up of students in grades 5-8. We rehearse weekly, and the students learn proper breathing techniques, diction while singing, and how to harmonize. The students learn songs that have two-part harmony that they then sing every few weeks at Mass. We sit together at weekly Mass and support the congregation in singing. We also train cantors to lead the congregation in song. Throughout the school year the students sing for the Veteran’s Day Assembly, Christmasfest, Christmas tree lighting, SJS Christmas Program, Catholic Schools Week, Grandparents Day, May Crowning and Eighth Grade Graduation. In the past they have also sung during weekend Masses, for the Saint Joseph Leisure Club, at the Capitol in Harrisburg, Holy Family Radio Station, Harrisburg Senator’s Game and at Retirement/Nursing Homes.
